But I Leave Work At 5:00

My teen had this question: If your job description is ’9 to 5′ do you leave work at 5:00 or does that mean you start wrapping things up at 5:00 so you can leave shortly thereafter?  George Larribas with Wells Fargo had a great answer to this: When you go to a store that opens at 9:00am, you expect service at 9:00am. You don’t expect to stand around and wait for someone to get things ready, get set, and then finally wait on you. Bottom line: If you want to get ahead and succeed, be ready to start when your customers are ready to start and stay until priorities are wrapped up for the day.
