Call Center Tallies New Jobs for 2011, Others Rally for 2012

C3/CustomerContactChannels added 2,000 new U.S.-based jobs in 2011 by opening up new call centers and expanding existing facilities. C3 opened new centers in Tucson, Arizona and Waco, Texas and expanded its Salt Lake City, Utah and Twin Falls, Idaho facilities.
The company has opened five new facilities in the U.S. since 2010, creating nearly 3,500 jobs. C3 cited financial incentives as influential over its decision to open and expand its call centers.

Precision Opinion, a Las Vegas-based research firm, announced that it plans to add 300 to 400 call center positions to its staff this year. The company will host a job fair to be held Thursday, February 9 at its headquarters at 101 Convention Center Drive, Suite 124. Xerox Corporation has announced plans to establish a call center facility in Webster, NY, creating 500 new local jobs by 2013. Xerox will invest $4.3 million to renovate a portion of Building 200 on New York State's Webster campus for the project. In addition, the company will receive $5 million in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits and a $1 million grant Economic Development Fund Grant from Empire State Development. The proposed 500 jobs include 350 new jobs in 2012 and an additional 150 by 2013. Xerox will also retain 70 existing employees from the Webster location.
Renovations are expected to begin in February and Xerox plans to start hiring employees in March.
