Full-Time Reps Wanted in Neb.; FIS Hiring in Ala.; AT&T Closes Portland Center

West Corporation, provider of voice- and technology-based business outsourcing solutions, is currently looking to hire 250 full-time customer service representatives at its Omaha, Neb. facility. The positions offer flexible hours and pay hourly wages up to $11, an employer-matched 401(k) program, paid training and tuition reimbursement. The company stated that candidates should have “solid work history” and at least six months of customer service experience. FIS, one of the world’s largest call center operators, will be adding roughly 100 new full-time jobs to the workforce at its Northport, Ala. facility. The Northport center handles debt collections for financial institutions, customer calls for health care benefits and incoming calls from customers needing help or having questions with credit cards, debit cards and other bank-related services. The entry-level jobs start at $9 per hour, with benefits like health insurance and a 401(k) plan offered after 90 days. A high school diploma or GED is required and FIS will train. Potential employees have to be comfortable working with a computer and they need good communication skills and good people skills. AT&T Mobility has announced plans to close its downtown Portland, Ore. call center this summer, eliminating 86 jobs. Affected employees will have the option of relocating; those who don’t will receive an unspecified severance payment. The call center is located on two floors of a building owned by Portland State University. Source.
