Start the Day Like John Steinbeck

Handwritten note

A handwritten note is the most powerful communication and networking tool you have in your career arsenal. Before John Steinbeck began to write each day, he would first write letters to friends. Friendship was often the theme in his books and essays, often serving as an escape from something bad or uncomfortable. Son 3.0 has a test this week on Of Mice and Men, so as I continue my quest for mother-of-the-year, I reread this timeless classic to help with the review. I had forgotten just how good Steinbeck is and discovered this tidbit about him as we studied.

Write someone a note right now. I got a paw-written thank you note from a dog last week. You know I love this. If a dog can do it….
