Look at What You Missed

Put the phone down, not because it’s often rude to be on it but because you are missing the world going by. You are taking pictures and movies and selfies you will never look at again. We are at our very first New Orleans Mardi Gras. The tourists are taking selfies. The people supposed to be throwing beads on the floats are taking selfies. The cops are taking selfies. Everyone stop. Look up.  You’ll never have memories of great times if you don’t look up and actually experience what is happening around you. There are some pretty darn amazing things to see and experience – without your phone – in New Orleans and all over the world.
