It's a bird, it's a plane, uh a shark?

Clients often ask me to help them make something ‘go viral’ – a post, a tweet, a video, a picture. You can’t make something popular, what you can do is make something good or fun, share it with your fans/customers on social media, retweet and interact with those fans, and have a sense of humor (if appropriate). Sharknado is an excellent example. This silly Syfy TV movie, which aired last Thursday night, has taken the country by storm…so to speak. So how did that happen? About 20 minutes before the movie aired, a Syfy exec began to tweet and retweet others, actor-turned-Twitter superstar Wil Wheaton picked up on that and it went crazy, fun from there. So much so, that this low-budget (awful) movie now has a sequel in work. It all started because of the interaction with the customers and a marketing plan…
