ICMI's Response to the Tragedy in Las Vegas

Dear ICMI Community,

We were very excited to kick off Customer Service Week (CSW) today, but with the events overnight, we would like to dedicate today’s CSW outreach to a different type of service: community service. Tragedies like the one in Las Vegas – which is on the heels of the tremendous destruction caused by the hurricanes in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands – remind us of how fortunate we are and how we must stand up to serve one another.

We often think of customer service in the commercial context where customers are the individuals we serve to ensure the sustainability of the organization we work for. With recent events, it is important to extend the context of customer to include our fellow community members – those we can serve from small to significant ways to help them recover and thrive again.

Here are a few ways you can serve to help those in need:

ICMI hosted one of our industry events – Contact Center Demo – last week at the Mandalay Bay. As such, we are particularly shaken by the Las Vegas tragedy. At this time, we can confirm that no one at the event was directly impacted by the Las Vegas shooting. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Las Vegas community and all impacted by this senseless act of violence.
